About The Game

The Shadowrun universe combines elements of cyberpunk and fantasy. The game’s main campaign, called Dead Man’s Switch, takes place in Seattle in 2054. The game’s unnamed protagonist, a mercenary runner, investigates the death of his old friend Sam Watts, who was murdered by an elusive serial killer. The music for the game was written by composers Marshall Parker and Sam Powell, who previously participated in the development of games in the Shadowrun universe for the SNES and Sega Genesis. The main campaign is called “Last Call”, in which the player can create an arbitrary character for himself. The player takes on the role of a runner who finds himself without work and money. One day, he receives a pre-recorded video message from a former accomplice, Sam Watts. He informs him that he was killed, but he has 100,000 nuen left in his account, which the player will receive if he finds Sam’s killer and brings justice to him. After arriving in Seattle, the runner discovers that Sam was the latest victim of the Emerald City Ripper, a serial killer who uses a scalpel to cut out certain organs from victims. The player then meets Jake Armitage, the protagonist of the 1993 game Shadowrun, who gives them further instructions. During the investigation, the player finds and kills the Ripper, but finds out that he was only a performer. Further investigation touches upon the activities of the Universal Brotherhood, a religious movement secretly setting the stage for an invasion from another world; the hero and his comrades have to resist this invasion with weapons in their hands.
